— Reply with a character you wish to test in the game's setting.
— Feel free to use one of the prompt below or make one of your own!
— Tag around! This is a panfandom RP, so don't hesitate to tag both castmates and non-castmates.
— Most importantly, have fun!
1/ Welcome to the world of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. Maybe it's time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred past month already-- Maybe some people who have been here for longer than you may help.
2/ Do you like your new life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think diplomacy can stop war, you could even start your own researches on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest in all of Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible.
3/ Neighborhood woes
The government of Aqures Ixen is very sorry, but it seems there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there is no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world late at night, and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have someone very cool living with you and an artist next door! It's just not likely.
4/ Crystallis de Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.
5/ A thing called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.
6/ A thing called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.
7/ I believe I can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.
8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore some ancient ruins that may hold some precious information. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere that isn't under imperial control; unless you have a death wish of course.
9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!
10/ Getting Jobs is hard
It all started when you asked Cid to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe she simply asked you to assist her in her researches on the Crystals. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.
11/ The world is subject to unrelenting pain and suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.
12/ Events of the Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to capture a Chocobo during Crystalis de Chocobo, maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility, or maybe you'd like to celebrate the Christmas of Crystallis. Yet again, maybe you would have liked to regain your true power and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles. Or how about participating in Christmas at Crystallis or fighting in a war for the warriors among you?
13/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

The Adventurer | Final Fantasy XIV Patch 3.0
[The Adventurer stared at the Chocobo. The Chocobo stared right back, tilting its head. The Moogle assigned to the Adventurer sweated nervously at this epic stare-off, the two seemingly communicating with each other. It had seemed like a simple enough task; go to the stables, get a bird. But they hadn't had a bird with the recent incident. So he and the Moogle went out and caught one, which was a simple task.
However, the pair were staring at each other. And finally, the Adventurer spoke.]
Well?
KWEH!
[He sighed deeply.] I've slain dragons, primals, and ascians. And yet I cannot seem to urge you into the air. [He folded his arms.] What am I doing wrong here?
10.
[The Adventurer folded his arms with a tilted look at the job person in question. He arched a eyebrow, being a man of little words. And then spoke.] What do you mean, I have to "drop" a job? I don't comprehend that.
[In Eorzea, they didn't drop jobs, merely changed armor. You could never LOSE the skills you trained your body into.]
9.
[Random encounter! Not hard, considering that he was out in the field. The Adventurer dismounted and eyed the three wolf-like creatures in front of himself. Unsheathing Bravua, he charged in.
The first attack felled the monster quickly, and he realized quickly that these were hungry monsters when one snapped at the corpse. Grabbing Bravura in both hands, the Adventurer roared loudly, trying to awaken the Inner Beast by 'popping' Infuriate... but nothing happened.]
What?! What the...?
[And then they were upon him, snarling as he held them off with the hilt of Bravura.] These... my strength, it's not as it used to be, I cannot awaken the Beast!
[For the first time in a long time, he fought, struggling against the three lone wolves... and more were emerging from the bushes realizing a prey had basically forgotten how to fight.]
4
Fly? I-I don't think they can fly. At least, I haven't seen one do so.
Re: 4
[Such a young Adventurer, he reflected gazing upon Tsubomi. And yet she carried herself with a practiced grace. He nodded.] Good morrow to thee.
Re: 4
But, um... if that's how Chocobo's work in your world, I don't think they work like that here. Actually, I don't think I've seen any Chocobo fly here.

It's only a little awkward.]
It's the crystals that hold the jobs and they can only old so many.
Re: 10
These are Job Crystals. The deeds of those who came before are inscribed on them, and provide us with support and power.
To hold many Jobs in a single crystal is an interesting method, but possibly limiting.
[He shook his head but smiled a little.] Thank you for telling me.
10
You're welcome.
[She pauses.]
I was told... someone is trying to limit our power here...
[Terra can't access her other form.]

I'd not heard the birds could fly. Not out of rumour, at least.

Ah, that would be why. One of Hydaelyn's chosen, recently summoned to this realm as well he could surmise by the confusion.]
Hearken unto me, servant of Hydaelyn. Thou must away.
[Fighting mortals battles? Naaaaah.]
Re: 9 Something glorious
Midgardsomr...
[Getting room, he whistled for his chocobo which came charging off from where it had fled, and he mounted it to leap over the wolves. The wolves barked and howled, snapping at his hind legs as he zoomed across the landscape.]
Dragon! If you're out there, pray, a timely assistance would be prefered! [he yelled.]
Clearly
Thou hast forgotten mine words to thee: I will not fight thy battles, but I will yet lend you my wings.
[Honestly what did you expect he would do? Barbecue all of them with a single blast? No, that would be too simple for someone who should not have gone off to battle without first familiarizing themselves with the laws of this star. What he will do, however, is fly down near his level and act as a diversion, snapping at their necks as if hunting for his next meal.]
Re: Clearly
9
At least until he heard snarls followed by a confused outcry.
Great. He wasn't exactly how to use these new skills, no matter how similar they were to his own back in that stupid Castle, but it wasn't like he could leave someone to blindly swing an axe in a mockery of their old powers.]
Then don't just stand there!
[Before he really realized what he was doing, his body was reacting on instinct - making him charge forth with darkness licking at his blade. With one swing, he seemed to hit most of the wolves, but at the cost of his own health.]
Tch.
[If he ever met his real thing again, he was going to punch him in the face for this.]
Re: 9
That's more like it!
[Despite the numerous howls of opponents coming their way, he continued to fight, sparing a glance at the... is that a Dark Knight? in any case, he was unfamiliar at best.]
Back to back, [instructed the Adventurer, swinging his axe over his shoulder in a charging motion.]
no subject
Right.
[Ira turned slightly, raising his sword and ready to strike before charging forth at an approaching target. If anything, he was decent at striking anything that so much as looked at him funny. Staying in one place for long? Not so much when at least attempting to dodge fangs and claws.]

From the wing she enters, letting out a tiresome sigh as she looks over her work with a rather disappointed look. A single hand on her hip while the crossbow is held at her shoulder like a butted rifle.]
Tsk- These three might get me something for their fur..
[Out of the corner of her eye she catches the figure, her head turning to look and take in the sight of what appeared to be a rather masculine looking individual. She swallowed the lump in her throat, her head going blank as she could feel the instant rush in her chest begin to make her heart beat frantically.
She merely mutters, trying to form words but looking more like a stupefied fool than an bonafide genius.]
Wh... Ah.. Eh.. Wuh.. Wh-Who might you be, Mister Mysteruous Outdoorsy Type Fellow, Sir?
Re: 9.
[Sea was, of course the name Terra gave him. His real name was Meteor but fate seemed defiant on letting him tell his real name.] Thank you for the timely assistance, miss. It was appreciated.
I was caught unprepared, as my former abilities have vanished into the aether, leaving me with naught to spare. It took most of my might to finish them off when you came to aid me.
Re: 9.
Uh huh.. I am single, since you asked~

Re: 9.
9. OMG had to tag this! Great Prompt btw!
The wolf at the farthest point yelps as a long, thin blade of silver sweeps in from no where and catches the beast at it's stomach, flicking the beast up and away with the momentum.]
Try now-
[Sephiroth pulls Masamune back in closer to him as he lands a few feet away from the Adenturer. Handling his over-long sword as deftly as his maxed level of Dragoon, when-paired with Warrior, allows. It felt good to switch back to the Jobs he'd had to begin with and come out to cut loose a little. Though really there is no more experience to be gained in either.]
Re: 9. Thanks! I do my best after all
Nodding at Sephiroth, he dove into battle once more, slashing into a Storms Eye Combo, absolutely decimating the enemy with each slash. The more natural responses of his fighting style were coming back, just a little with each motion.]
Thank you for the assist.
[Returning his attention, he noticed a few stray circling enemies, so whirling Bravura around his shoulder, he hurled it like a Tomahawk at the enemy, the weapon spinning like a boomerang to catch the strays before returning to his hand.]
9. >.<
The seasoned Hero watches as the man dove immediately back into battle, wielding the axe around as if the world were about to end. He had determination, Sephiroth had to grant him that.]
You're welcome.
[Sentinel-like, he hung back and only granted a sword strike in assistance when it looked as if the Adventurer might become overwhelmed.
After a while, and inevitably, exhaustion was bound to set in. The pack indeed was a lot larger than it had first appeared, drawn to the scent of the fallen monsters which might afford them their next meal.]
Heads up!
[Sephiroth called out before crouching low, armor plates bending not unlike how a Dragoon's might on Eorzea -except wielding a super-long sword instead of a lance. It had been much too long since he'd attempted this but-
Up he leapt, and hopefully the
tankAdventurer would move a little in time for Sephiroth to perform his signature 'Hells Gate' maneuver, the long arching point of Masamune coming down first for the wolf right in front of the other man.]Re: 9. >.<

Lady of Ice, heed my call! Diamond Dust!
[Shiva appeared a moment later in a flash of light. The temperature dropped suddenly - whereas moments ago it was simply cold, a deep freeze now gripped the surrounding area.]
[As the floating woman raised her arms, stalagmites of ice erupted from the ground beneat the wolves, tearing at their feet and bellies. The creatures tried to kick off and run away, and some managed to, but the majority were stuck in place. After a moment, Shiva extended one arm in front of her and with a snap, the ice shattered, the shrapnel ripping into the trapped wolves. They howled in pain, several of the wolves dropping to the ground, dead in seconds. The remainder were either too injured to move, or spooked by Shiva's ethereal presence. But they wouldn't be for long.]
[As the Mistress of Ice dissipated into the ether, Ashelia rode up to the Adventurer on her yellow chocobo. She extended a hand.] Come, they won't be gone for long!
Re: 9.
[But no sooner than she dissipated that the Adventurer found himself speechless for a moment before grasping Ashelia's hand and swinging onto the back of her chocobo. He whistled for his own and it turned and charged up alongside the pair, but still without a rider.]
Thank you for the save, [he said before they took off.] But what possessed you to summon Ysayle from beyond like that?
Re: 9.
[It didn't take long for them to lose the wolves, decimated as they were by Shiva's attack. Ashelia stopped Sydney when the city's walls came into view. She let the Adventurer dismount before she did, patting her chocobo's long neck.] That was Shiva, one of Crystallis' guardian eidolons. I am not surprised you know her by a different name.
[Ashelia dismounts.] Are you all right? Not hurt at all?
